The total number of nursing personnel will vary depending upon the number and types of patients to be admitted and the types of operative procedures to be performed or the services programmed.\n\n1. A registered nurse qualified on the basis of education, experience, and clinical ability shall be responsible for the direction of nursing care provided the patients.\n\n2. The number and type of nursing personnel, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and supplementary staff, shall be based upon the needs of the patients and the types of services performed.\n\n3. At least one registered nurse shall be on duty at all times while the facility is in use.\n\n4. Job descriptions shall be developed for each level of nursing personnel and include functions, responsibilities, and qualifications.\n\n5. Evidence of current Virginia registration required by state statute shall be on file in the facility.\n\nB. Each outpatient surgical hospital shall quarterly report to the department no later 30 calendar days after January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1:\n\n1. The total number of certified sexual assault nurse examiners employed by the outpatient surgical hospital; and\n\n2. The location, including street address, and contact information for each location at which the certified sexual assault nurse examiners provide services.\n\nEach outpatient surgical hospital shall report the information required by this subsection to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Family Health Services.","path":["Title 12.
