The commissioner or department may require the owner to install, use, and maintain monitoring equipment for the control and testing of water flowing through the water treatment plant to:\n\n1. Identify and determine the cause of operational problems;\n\n2. Determine the necessary corrective actions for these problems;\n\n3. Ensure compliance with Part II of this chapter; and\n\n4. Prepare the finished water for entry into the distribution system.\n\nB. Sampling and testing shall be by methods approved by the  department.
