{"data":{"id":"us-va/18vac10-20-460","jurisdiction":"us-va","citation":"18VAC10-20-460","heading":"Definitions","body":"The following words, terms, and phrases when used in this part have the following meanings except where the context clearly indicates otherwise or requires different meanings.\n\n\"CIDA\" means the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, formerly known as the Foundation of Interior Design Education Research (FIDER).\n\n\"Diversified experience\" includes the identification, research, and creative solution of problems pertaining to the function and quality of the interior environment including code analysis, fire safety consideration, and barrier-free evaluations that relate to the health, safety, and welfare of the public.\n\n\"Monitored experience\" means diversified experience in interior design under the direct control and personal supervision of a certified or licensed interior designer, architect, or professional engineer.\n\n\"Professional program approved by the board\" means an evaluated degree or combination of evaluated degrees as follows:\n\n1. A minimum of an undergraduate degree in an interior design program that is deemed by the board to be substantially equivalent to an undergraduate degree in interior design from a CIDA-accredited program;\n\n2. A graduate degree from a CIDA-accredited program; or\n\n3. A graduate degree in interior design plus an undergraduate degree that in combination are deemed by the board to be substantially equivalent to an undergraduate degree program from a CIDA-accredited program at the time of the applicant's graduation.\n\nFor the purposes of this definition, a degree program that met CIDA accreditation requirements not later than two years after the date of the applicant's graduation must be determined to be CIDA accredited.","path":["Title 18.
