Every applicant for licensure as a substance abuse treatment practitioner by examination shall pass a written examination as prescribed by the board.\n\nB. Every applicant for licensure as a substance abuse treatment practitioner by endorsement shall have passed a substance abuse examination deemed by the board to be substantially equivalent to the Virginia examination.\n\nC. The examination is waived for an applicant who holds a current and unrestricted license as a professional counselor issued by the board.\n\nD. The board shall establish a passing score on the written examination.\n\nE. A resident shall remain in a residency practicing under supervision until the resident has passed the licensure examination and been granted a license as a substance abuse treatment practitioner.","path":["Title 18.
