The lead abatement supervisor course must last a minimum of 32 hours with a minimum of eight hours devoted to hands-on training. The training course must address the following topics:\n\n1. Role and responsibilities of an abatement supervisor.\n\n2. Background information on lead and the adverse health effects.\n\n3. Background information on federal, state, and local regulations and guidance that pertains to lead-based paint activities, including distribution and thorough review of this chapter.\n\n4. Liability and insurance issues relating to lead-based paint abatement.\n\n5. Risk assessment and inspection report interpretation.\n\n6. Development and implementation of an occupant protection plan and abatement report.\n\n7. Lead-based paint hazard recognition and control methods.\n\n8. Lead-based paint abatement or lead hazard reduction methods, including restricted work practices.\n\n9. Interior dust abatement or cleanup or lead hazard reduction.\n\n10. Soil and exterior dust abatement or lead hazard reduction.\n\n11. Clearance standards and testing.\n\n12. Clean-up and waste disposal.\n\n13. Recordkeeping.\n\n14. Examination.\n\nB.
