The following words and terms when used in this chapter shall have the meanings ascribed to them in § 54.1-2957.7 of the Code of Virginia.\n\n\"Midwife\"\n\n\"Practicing midwifery\"\n\nB. The following words and terms when used in this chapter shall have the following meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:\n\n\"Board\" means the Virginia Board of Medicine.\n\n\"Client\" means a person receiving midwifery care and shall be considered synonymous with the word \"patient.\"\n\n\"Controlled substance\" means a drug, substance or immediate precursor in Schedules I through VI as set out in the Drug Control Act (§ 54.1-3400 et seq. of the Code of Virginia).\n\n\"CPM\" means the Certified Professional Midwife credential issued by the North American Registry of Midwives.\n\n\"NARM\" means the North American Registry of Midwives.","path":["Title 18.
