An Area Agency on Aging shall take special precautions in the purchase of ADP equipment and software. The purchase, lease, or retention of ADP equipment shall require prior approval from the  Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services on an individual or blanket purchase basis.\n\nB. In the acquisition of computer equipment, an Area Agency on Aging shall ensure the following:\n\n1. A full requirements analysis has been conducted;\n\n2. Its computer utilization needs are projected over at least a three-year period;\n\n3. The intended software system meets federal and state reporting requirements;\n\n4. There is adequate post-sale vendor support; and\n\n5. Competitive purchasing procedures are adhered to.\n\nC.
