{"data":{"id":"us-va/24vac20-121-40","jurisdiction":"us-va","citation":"24VAC20-121-40","heading":"Records to be maintained","body":"Except as otherwise provided in this section, all records shall be maintained at the licensed location of the school. The commissioner may, on written request from a school, permit records to be maintained at a location other than the licensed location for good cause shown.\n\nSchools shall maintain accurate, complete, legible and up-to-date records, as required under §§ 46.2-1701.2 and 46.2-1701.3 of the Code of Virginia. Such records shall include:\n\n1. All student records;\n\n2. All business records;\n\n3. All records relating to:\n\na. Compliance with or proof of exemption from local business licensing and zoning regulations;\n\nb. Federal, state and local health, fire and building code requirements; and\n\nc. Size and space requirements for places of business and classrooms; and\n\n4. Any other records required by the department in a manner prescribed by the department.\n\nAll records shall be retained by the school for a minimum of three years after their creation.
