A nonrefundable application fee shall be charged to offset the cost of reviewing and processing the permit application and inspecting the project work, in accordance with the requirements in this subsection:\n\n1. The application fee for a single permit is $100. Public rights-of-way use fees may be charged in lieu of permit fees in certain situations in accordance with law.\n\n2. Additive costs shall be applied as indicated in this subdivision. The district administrator's designee will determine the total permit fees using the following schedule:\n\nActivity\n\nFee\n\nPrivate Entrances\n\nnone\n\nCommercial Entrance\n\n$150 for first entrance\n\n$50 for each additional entrance\n\nStreet Connection\n\n$150 for first connection\n\n$50 for each additional connection\n\nTemporary Logging Entrance\n\n$10 for each entrance\n\nTemporary Construction Entrance\n\n$10 for each entrance\n\nTurn Lane\n\n$10 per 100 linear feet\n\nCrossover\n\n$500 per crossover\n\nTraffic Signal\n\n$1,000 per signal installation\n\nReconstruction of Roadway\n\n$10 per 100 linear feet\n\nCurb and Gutter\n\n$10 per 100 linear feet\n\nSidewalk\n\n$10 per 100 linear feet\n\nTree Trimming (for outdoor advertising)\n\nin accordance with § 33.2-1221 of the Code of Virginia\n\nTree Trimming (all other activities)\n\n$10 per acre or 100 feet of frontage\n\nLandscaping\n\n$10 per acre or 100 feet of frontage\n\nStorm Sewer\n\n$10 per 100 linear feet\n\nBox Culvert or Bridge\n\n$5 per linear foot of attachment\n\nDrop Inlet\n\n$10 per inlet\n\nPaved Ditch\n\n$10 per 100 linear feet\n\nUnder Drain or Cross Drain\n\n$10 per crossing\n\nAbove-ground Structure (including poles, pedestals, fire hydrants, towers)\n\n$10 per structure\n\nPole Attachment\n\n$10 per structure\n\nSpan Guy\n\n$10 per crossing\n\nAdditive Guy and Anchor\n\n$10 per guy and anchor\n\nUnderground Utility - Parallel\n\n$10 per 100 linear feet\n\nOverhead or Underground Crossing\n\n$10 per crossing\n\nExcavation Charge (including Test Bores and Emergency Opening)\n\n$10 per opening\n\nTwo Month Commuter Lot Mobile Food Vending (available in Planning District 8 only) (weekdays and weekends)\n\n$150\n\nSingle Weekend Commuter Lot Mobile Food Vending (available in Planning District 8 only) (per weekend)\n\n$10\n\n3. Permit term extensions for active permits shall incur a monetary charge of $50. Expired permits may be reinstated; however, fees for reinstatement of expired permits shall be $100. Notwithstanding 24VAC30-151-80, commuter lot mobile food vending permits may not be extended or reinstated.\n\n4. If a permit is canceled prior to the beginning of the permitted activity, the application fee and the additive fee will be retained as compensation for costs incurred by VDOT during plan review.\n\n5. The district administrator's designee, in accordance with 24VAC30-151-70, may establish an account to track plan review and inspection costs and may bill the permittee not more often than every 30 calendar days. If an account is established for these costs, the permittee shall be responsible for the nonrefundable application fee and the billed costs. When actual costs are billed, the district administrator's designee shall waive the additive fees in subdivision 2 of this subsection.\n\nB. Districtwide permits. Districtwide permits, as defined in 24VAC30-151-30, are valid for a period of two years. The biennial fee for a districtwide permit for utilities and logging operations is $750 per district. The biennial fee for a districtwide permit for surveying is $200 per district. The central office permit manager may exercise discretion in combining requests for multijurisdictional districtwide permits and to authorize unlimited time extensions at the full cost of the permit fee for each two-year term.\n\nC. No-fee permits. The following permits shall be issued at no cost to the applicant:\n\n1. In-place permits as defined in 24VAC30-151-30 and 24VAC30-151-390.\n\n2. Prior-rights permits as defined in 24VAC30-151-30 and 24VAC30-151-390.\n\n3. As-built permits as defined in 24VAC30-151-30.\n\n4. Crest stage gauges and water level recorders as defined in 24VAC30-151-500.\n\n5. Filming as defined in 24VAC30-151-520.\n\n6. Roadside memorials as defined in 24VAC30-151-550.\n\n7. No loitering signs as defined in 24VAC30-151-570.\n\n8. Litter pickup and volunteer mowing as defined in 24VAC30-151-620.","path":["Title 24. Transportation And Motor Vehicles","Agency 30.
