Applicants shall possess mining experience as described in § 45.2-512 of the Code of Virginia.\n\nB. Applicants shall be given three years credit for a degree in mining engineering from an approved four-year college.\n\nC. Applicants shall hold a valid Surface Mine Foreman Certificate.\n\nD. Applicants shall meet the continuing education requirements of 4VAC25-20-70 for surface mine foreman.\n\nE. Applicants shall pass the surface mine inspector examination.\n\nF. A certificate will not be issued until an applicant is employed by the department and shall only remain valid while the person is employed by the department.\n\nG. Applicants who already possess a valid underground mine inspector certification pursuant to 4VAC25-20-180 shall be deemed to have met the requirements of this section.","path":["Title 4.
