{"data":{"id":"us-va/6vac20-280-20","jurisdiction":"us-va","citation":"6VAC20-280-20","heading":"Compulsory minimum training standards","body":"Pursuant to the provisions of subdivision 3 of § 9.1-102 of the Code of Virginia, the department establishes these standards  as the compulsory minimum training standards for law-enforcement field training officers.\n\n1. The course shall include a minimum of 32 hours of training and must address each of the following subjects:\n\na. Field training program and the field training officer.\n\nb. Field training program delivery and evaluation.\n\nc. Training liability.\n\nd. Characteristics of the adult learner.\n\ne. Methods of instruction.\n\nf. Fundamentals of communication.\n\ng. Written test.\n\n2. A field training officer recertification course shall include a minimum of two hours of training.
