Residents' personal possessions shall be inventoried upon admission and such inventory shall be documented in the resident's case record. When a resident arrives at a facility with items not permitted in the detention center, staff shall:\n\n1. Dispose of contraband items in accordance with written procedures; and\n\n2. If the items are nonperishable property that the resident may otherwise legally possess, securely store the property and return it to the resident upon release.\n\nB. Each detention center shall implement a written procedure regarding the disposition of personal property unclaimed by residents after release from the facility.","path":["Title 6.
