The candidate shall have:\n\n1. Earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and graduated from an approved teacher preparation program in health and physical education; or\n\n2. Earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and completed a major in health and physical education or 45 semester hours of coursework distributed in the following areas:\n\na. Personal health, safety, and care of athletic injuries: three semester hours;\n\nb. Human anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, and biomechanics of human movement: nine semester hours;\n\nc. General health and physical education theory, including curriculum design and development in health and physical education: three semester hours;\n\nd. Instructional methods and skills for secondary physical education: three semester hours;\n\ne. Concepts of motor learning, instructional methods, and skills for elementary physical education: three semester hours;\n\nf. Instruction methods for elementary and secondary school health: three semester hours;\n\ng. Health and physical education electives: nine semester hours;\n\nh. Instructional methods and strategies for adapted physical education: three semester hours;\n\ni. Technology in health and physical education: three semester hours;\n\nj.
