The candidate shall have:\n\n1. Earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and hold a license issued by the Virginia Board of Education with a teaching endorsement in a teaching area; and\n\n2. Either:\n\na. Completed an approved teacher preparation program in Algebra I; or\n\nb. Completed 24 semester hours that include coursework in each of the following areas:\n\n(1) Elementary functions, introductory college algebra, and trigonometry;\n\n(2) Linear algebra;\n\n(3) Calculus;\n\n(4) Euclidean geometry;\n\n(5) Probability and statistics;\n\n(6) Discrete mathematics;\n\n(7) Mathematical modeling; and\n\n(8) Methods of teaching algebra.","path":["Title 8.
