Cribs shall be provided for children from birth through 12 months of age and for children over 12 months of age who are not developmentally ready to sleep on a cot, rest mat, or bed.\n\nB. Cribs shall not be used as a play space for infants.\n\nC. Cribs shall:\n\n1. Meet the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission standards at the time they were manufactured;\n\n2. Not have been recalled;\n\n3. Have no more than six centimeters or 2-3/8 inches of space between slats;\n\n4. Have mattresses that fit snugly next to the crib so that no more than two fingers can be inserted between the mattress and the crib;\n\n5. Not have end panel cutouts of a size to cause head entrapment; and\n\n6. Not have mesh sides.\n\nD. Double-deck cribs shall not be used.\n\nE. Crib bumper pads shall not be used.\n\nF. Crib sides shall always be up and the fastenings secured when a child is in the crib, except when the caregiver is giving the child immediate attention.","path":["Title 8. Education","Agency 20.
