{"data":{"id":"us-vt/10-v.s.a.-122","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"10 V.S.A. § 122","heading":"Vermont Center for Geographic Information; establishment","body":"(a) The State of Vermont shall support a comprehensive strategy for the development and use of a geographic information system, including:\n(1) data and mapping standards;\n(2) potential applications and their priorities;\n(3) priorities for collecting and digitizing information;\n(4) geographic location standards for all data collection;\n(5) software and hardware standards;\n(6) management needs;\n(7) private sector cooperation;\n(8) costs and benefits of use;\n(9) [Repealed.]\n(10) ways to make information gathered available to regional and municipal entities, commercial entities, the public, and others;\n(11) ways to ensure that data gathered by governmental entities conforms to the geographic information system; and\n(12) an implementation schedule.\n(b) In order to develop and implement that strategy, and to ensure that all data gathered by State agencies that is relevant to the VGIS shall be in a form that is compatible with, useful to, and shared with that geographic information system, there is hereby established the Vermont Center for Geographic Information (the Center) as a unit of the Data Management Division under the Agency of Digital Services.\n(c) [Repealed.]","path":["Title 10: Conservation and Development","Chapter 008: Geographic Information"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/10/008/00122","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T15:01:20Z","sha256":"25628e5f15ed0994d2174de033e38f9a0dce6749292336998fc356c424c8bd5d","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/10-v.s.a.-121","next":"us-vt/10-v.s.a.-123"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
