{"data":{"id":"us-vt/10-v.s.a.-4518","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"10 V.S.A. § 4518","heading":"Big game violations; threatened and endangered species; suspension; violations","body":"(a) Whoever violates a provision of this part or orders or rules of the Board that constitutes a big game violation shall be fined not more than $2,000.00 nor less than $500.00 or imprisoned for not more than 60 days, or both. Upon a second and all subsequent convictions or any conviction while under license suspension related to the requirements of part 4 of this title, the violator shall be fined not more than $5,000.00 nor less than $2,000.00 or imprisoned for not more than 180 days, or both.\n(b) As used in this section, “big game violation” means:\n(1) violations relating to taking, possessing, transporting, buying, or selling of big game;\n(2) violations of chapter 123 of this title and the rules related to threatened and endangered species;\n(3) violation of section 4280 of this title relating to criminal suspensions;\n(4) violations of chapter 124 of this title relating to the trade in covered animal parts or products;\n(5) interference with hunting, fishing, or trapping in violation of section 4708 of this title; or\n(6) illegal commercial importation or possession of wild animals in violation of section 4709 of this title.","path":["Title 10: Conservation and Development","Chapter 109: Penalties and Enforcement","Subchapter 001: GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/10/109/04518","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T15:36:21Z","sha256":"e59c6e0e2b74a9669c502e83ef43db9837679b308c21c2896ebe4a16ac024d61","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/10-v.s.a.-4517","next":"us-vt/10-v.s.a.-4519"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
