{"data":{"id":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-1063","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"13 V.S.A. § 1063","heading":"Aggravated stalking","body":"(a) A person commits the crime of aggravated stalking if the person intentionally stalks another person, and:\n(1) such conduct violates a court order that prohibits stalking and is in effect at the time of the offense;\n(2) has been previously convicted of stalking or aggravated stalking;\n(3) has been previously convicted of an offense an element of which involves an act of violence against the same person;\n(4) the person being stalked is under 16 years of age; or\n(5) had a deadly weapon, as defined in section 1021 of this title, in his or her possession while engaged in the act of stalking.\n(b) A person who commits the crime of aggravated stalking shall be imprisoned not more than five years or be fined not more than $25,000.00, or both.\n(c) Conduct constituting the offense of aggravated stalking shall be considered a violent act for the purposes of determining bail.","path":["Title 13: Crimes and Criminal Procedure","Chapter 019: Breach of the Peace; Disturbances","Subchapter 007: STALKING"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/13/019/01063","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:09:27Z","sha256":"b4fd1fd03e754fabfda0d046c364a8577a4090bcf75acc56d96f0a43a6028017","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-1062","next":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-1064"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
