{"data":{"id":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-2635","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"13 V.S.A. § 2635","heading":"Slave traffic","body":"(a) A person shall not:\n(1) induce, entice, or procure a person to come into the State or to go from the State for the purpose of prostitution or for any immoral purpose or to enter a house of prostitution in the State;\n(2) willfully or knowingly aid such person in obtaining transportation to or within the State for such purposes;\n(3) place a person in the charge or custody of another person for immoral purposes or in a house of prostitution;\n(4) induce, entice, procure, or compel such person to reside in a house of prostitution; or\n(5) induce, entice, procure, or compel such person to live a life of prostitution.\n(b) A person violating a provision hereof shall be imprisoned not more than 10 years nor less than one year or fined not more than $2,000.00 nor less than $200.00, or both.","path":["Title 13: Crimes and Criminal Procedure","Chapter 059: Lewdness and Prostitution","Subchapter 002: PROSTITUTION"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/13/059/02635","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:16:58Z","sha256":"149fd35ef0e4d043292ee1a290e147a1daa10cf96c0c8016ff8c6a2b33e54c6b","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-2634","next":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-2635a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
