{"data":{"id":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-391","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"13 V.S.A. § 391","heading":"Definitions","body":"In addition to those definitions set forth in section 351 of this title, the following words shall have the following definitions:\n(1) “Animal pulling contest” means a pulling contest in which weights are pulled by animals for competitive purposes.\n(2) “Secretary” means the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets or a designee.\n(3) “Competitive event” means pulling contests, trail rides, shows, and any other competition for premiums or prizes involving animals.\n(4) “Drug” means those substances identified under 18 V.S.A. § 4051(5).\n(5) “Owner” means any person, partnership, or corporation having title to animals in any competitive event.\n(6) “Superintendent” means any individual designated to control animals during any livestock competition.","path":["Title 13: Crimes and Criminal Procedure","Chapter 008: Humane and Proper Treatment of Animals","Subchapter 009: USE OF DRUGS IN ANIMALS IN LIVESTOCK COMPETITIONS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/13/008/00391","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:06:27Z","sha256":"ba576a629361f1310a8d13692866d93990a0e534c0dc06939e881ea170228567","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-387","next":"us-vt/13-v.s.a.-392"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
