{"data":{"id":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5011","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"18 V.S.A. § 5011","heading":"Penalty","body":"(a) A town clerk who fails to transmit copies of marriage certificates as provided in section 5010 of this title shall be fined not more than $100.00.\n(b) The Commissioner or a hearing officer designated by the Commissioner may, after notice and an opportunity for a hearing, impose a civil administrative penalty of not more than $250.00 against a person who fails to perform a duty imposed or violates a prohibition under this part. A hearing under this subsection shall be a contested case subject to the provisions of 3 V.S.A. chapter 25, and the provisions of 3 V.S.A. §§ 809(h), 809a, and 809b related to subpoenas shall extend to the Commissioner, a hearing officer appointed by the Commissioner, and licensed attorneys representing a party.","path":["Title 18: Health","Chapter 101: Vital Records Generally"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/18/101/05011","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:02Z","sha256":"6fa42c73163e17255640f8948e29f8d1bce25814821e4082b9ad8881ddcc8177","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5010","next":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5012"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
