{"data":{"id":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5078a","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"18 V.S.A. § 5078a","heading":"Certificate of live birth for a foreign born child adopted in Vermont","body":"(a) The State Registrar shall establish in the Statewide Registration System a “certificate of live birth for a foreign born child” when he or she receives:\n(1) a written request that the certificate be established:\n(A) from the adopted person if 14 years of age or older; or\n(B) from the adoptive parent or parents if the adopted person is under 14 years of age; and\n(2) a record of adoption issued under 15A V.S.A. § 3-801(a).\n(b) The certificate shall include:\n(1) the true or probable foreign country of birth and true or probable date of birth;\n(2) the adoptive parents as though they were natural parents;\n(3) a notation that it was issued by authority of this chapter;\n(4) a statement that the certificate is not evidence of U.S. citizenship; and\n(5) any other information the State Registrar may prescribe.\n(c) The certificate shall not contain a statement whether the adopted person was illegitimate.\n(d), (e) [Repealed.]","path":["Title 18: Health","Chapter 103: Birth Records"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/18/103/05078a","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:02Z","sha256":"1990283ca1f2cf779dc2326dd56269496016faf512a54f3ac2c09ff859ac925c","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5078","next":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5079"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
