{"data":{"id":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5250p","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"18 V.S.A. § 5250p","heading":"Sale or purchase of parts prohibited","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of this section, no person shall, for valuable consideration, knowingly purchase or sell a part for transplantation or therapy if removal of a part from an individual is intended to occur after the individual’s death.\n(b) A person may charge a reasonable amount for the removal, processing, preservation, quality control, storage, transportation, implantation, or disposal of a part.\n(c) A person who violates subsection (a) of this section shall be imprisoned not more than five years or fined not more than $50,000.00, or both.","path":["Title 18: Health","Chapter 110: Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/18/110/05250p","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:02Z","sha256":"1d174781088616efbb78bdec47ba40ca71e0c84f29237424fcbd4856bf73e8aa","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5250o","next":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-5250q"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
