{"data":{"id":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-7255","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"18 V.S.A. § 7255","heading":"System of care","body":"The Commissioner of Mental Health shall coordinate a geographically diverse system and continuum of mental health care throughout the State that shall include at least the following:\n(1) comprehensive and coordinated community services, including prevention, to serve children, families, and adults at all stages of mental condition or psychiatric disability;\n(2) peer services, which may include:\n(A) a warm line;\n(B) peer-provided transportation services;\n(C) peer-supported crisis services; and\n(D) peer-supported hospital diversion services;\n(3) alternative treatment options for individuals seeking to avoid or reduce reliance on medications;\n(4) recovery-oriented housing programs;\n(5) intensive residential recovery facilities;\n(6) appropriate and adequate psychiatric inpatient capacity for voluntary patients;\n(7) appropriate and adequate psychiatric inpatient capacity for involuntary inpatient treatment services, including persons receiving treatment through court order from a civil or criminal court;\n(8) a secure residential recovery facility; and\n(9) a psychiatric residential treatment facility for youth.","path":["Title 18: Health","Chapter 174: Mental Health System of Care"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/18/174/07255","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:03Z","sha256":"cab2350a1003e624587fd433a6b8e4c2757186d75e4c7b93591c58b26bcc6c57","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-7254","next":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-7256"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
