{"data":{"id":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-9334","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"18 V.S.A. § 9334","heading":"Genetic testing as a condition of insurance coverage","body":"(a) No policy of insurance offered for delivery or issued in this State shall be underwritten or conditioned on the basis of:\n(1) any requirement or agreement of the individual to undergo genetic testing; or\n(2) the results of genetic testing of a member of the individual’s family.\n(b) A violation of this section shall be considered an unfair method of competition or unfair or deceptive act or practice in the business of insurance in violation of 8 V.S.A. § 4724.\n(c) In addition to other remedies available under the law, a person who violates this section shall be subject to the enforcement provisions available under Title 8.","path":["Title 18: Health","Chapter 217: Genetic Testing"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/18/217/09334","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:03Z","sha256":"c8d0fde6926d437f826cd406f38aab601cec7ec6f52ae264e3a8a2470be0093f","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-9333","next":"us-vt/18-v.s.a.-9335"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
