{"data":{"id":"us-vt/23-v.s.a.-1401","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"23 V.S.A. § 1401","heading":"Contents of permit","body":"(a) The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall incorporate in the permit such descriptive matter as to the highways to be traveled over; the Commissioner’s restrictions as to width and character of the wheels of such tractor, trailer, motor truck, or other motor vehicle; and other rules as in the Commissioner’s judgment seem most conducive to a proper use of the highways.\n(b) The Commissioner shall adopt rules under 3 V.S.A. chapter 25 governing the conditions to be incorporated in the permit. These rules shall also assign each condition to one of three categories, depending on the seriousness of a violation of the condition.\n(c) Violation of a rule adopted under this section shall constitute a traffic violation.\n(d) A person who violates a rule adopted under this section shall be subject to the following penalties: $100.00 for a Category I violation; $200.00 for a Category II violation; and $300.00 for a Category III violation.","path":["Title 23: Motor Vehicles","Chapter 013: Operation of Vehicles","Subchapter 015: WEIGHT, SIZE, LOADS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/23/013/01401","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:05Z","sha256":"e02f95f14d3f2f41943e475b1cacfdccfa3aeea78f9f1319b7d7b6ec0a8fe6e4","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/23-v.s.a.-1400d","next":"us-vt/23-v.s.a.-1402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
