{"data":{"id":"us-vt/23-v.s.a.-202","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"23 V.S.A. § 202","heading":"Impersonating another in an application or aiding an applicant by false representation","body":"A person who does any of the following shall be fined not more than $1,000.00 or imprisoned not more than two years, or both, and shall have his or her privilege to operate suspended for 90 days:\n(1) falsely impersonates another in an application for:\n(A) an operator’s license;\n(B) a learner’s permit;\n(C) a nondriver identification card;\n(D) a motor vehicle registration or vessel validation; or\n(E) an in-transit registration permit;\n(2) obtains by false representation:\n(A) an operator’s license;\n(B) a learner’s permit;\n(C) a nondriver identification card;\n(D) a motor vehicle registration or vessel validation; or\n(E) an in-transit registration permit;\n(3) uses an assumed name or name that is not his or her own in an application for:\n(A) an operator’s license;\n(B) a learner’s permit;\n(C) a nondriver identification card;\n(D) a motor vehicle registration or vessel validation; or\n(E) an in-transit registration permit; or\n(4) knowingly aids an applicant in obtaining by false representation as to the age or identity of such applicant:\n(A) an operator’s license;\n(B) a learner’s permit;\n(C) a nondriver identification card;\n(D) a motor vehicle registration or vessel validation; or\n(E) in-transit registration permit.","path":["Title 23: Motor Vehicles","Chapter 005: Provisions Common to Registration and Operator's Licenses"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/23/005/00202","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:04Z","sha256":"425c3ed2e8ae7849214da18ca2a6dd7d2f6e3d97f289be1c828cbbfb141901ee","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/23-v.s.a.-201","next":"us-vt/23-v.s.a.-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
