{"data":{"id":"us-vt/24-v.s.a.-2501a","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"24 V.S.A. § 2501a","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) “Public place” means municipal property, including a municipal park, a recreation area, or a municipal building. “Public place” shall not include any municipal forestland or property that is subject to any ownership interest held by the Agency of Transportation.\n(2) “Public way” means a right-of-way held by a municipality, including a town highway.\n(3) “Shade tree” means a shade or ornamental tree located in whole or in part within the limits of a public way or public place, provided that the tree:\n(A) was planted by the municipality; or\n(B) is designated as a shade tree pursuant to a municipal shade tree preservation plan pursuant to section 2502 of this title.","path":["Title 24: Municipal and County Government","Chapter 067: Parks and Shade Trees"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/24/067/02501a","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:05Z","sha256":"c7ec15344bb529230ae986cb2f806b042e7639008cf4f21828e44e65b6c126f2","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/24-v.s.a.-2501","next":"us-vt/24-v.s.a.-2502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
