{"data":{"id":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-2677","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"26 V.S.A. § 2677","heading":"Revocation; suspension and refusing of renewal of license","body":"The Director may, in his or her discretion, refuse to issue, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a license when the applicant or licensee engages in any of the following conduct or the conduct set forth in 3 V.S.A. § 129a:\n(1) is guilty, upon the finding of a court of competent jurisdiction, of violating the provisions of this chapter;\n(2) is incompetent to practice, by reason of addiction to alcohol, narcotics, or other habit-forming drugs;\n(3) is guilty of fraud or deceit in practice as an optician;\n(4) violates, induces others to violate, or cooperates with others in violating any of the rules and regulations of the profession;\n(5) advertises in any manner that would tend to deceive or mislead the public, or engages in any form of house-to-house canvassing or soliciting for the sale of eyeglasses or other ophthalmic materials or services;\n(6) participates in the division, assignment, rebate, or refund of fees or parts thereof in connection referrals from the prescriber; or\n(7) originates, issues, alters, or changes in any way any optical prescription, or practices ocular refraction, orthoptics, or visual training, or offers to do so.","path":["Title 26: Professions and Occupations","Chapter 047: Opticians","Subchapter 003: LICENSES"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/26/047/02677","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:08Z","sha256":"f0ca6eae7fbb3ff982eae7f472c95e195c206a858d187974e1d2724a46ee8965","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-2676","next":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-2678-2679"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
