{"data":{"id":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-3205a","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"26 V.S.A. § 3205a","heading":"Licensed independent clinical social worker eligibility","body":"(a) To be eligible for licensure as a licensed independent clinical social worker, an applicant must have:\n(1) received a master’s degree or doctoral degree from an accredited social work education program;\n(2) passed the examinations designated by the Director within five years prior to applying for licensure; and\n(3) completed 3,000 hours of supervised practice of independent clinical social work as defined by rule under the supervision of a:\n(A) licensed independent clinical social worker;\n(B) licensed clinical mental health counselor;\n(C) licensed psychologist;\n(D) licensed physician or a licensed osteopathic physician who has completed a residency in psychiatry; or\n(E) person licensed or certified in another state or Canada in one of these professions or their substantial equivalent.\n(b) A person not licensed as a master’s social worker who engages in post-master’s supervised practice in Vermont toward licensure as a licensed independent clinical social worker shall be entered on the roster of nonlicensed, noncertified psychotherapists.\n(c) A licensed master’s social worker who engages in post-master’s supervised practice in Vermont to become a licensed independent clinical social worker must first register with the Office as set forth by rule.","path":["Title 26: Professions and Occupations","Chapter 061: Social Workers","Subchapter 001: GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/26/061/03205a","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:08Z","sha256":"ccc9c61205ff2cfb5930646e31fd6b90c45268b57cf4a18531a84e9f193798da","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-3205","next":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-3206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
