{"data":{"id":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-582","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"26 V.S.A. § 582","heading":"Authority of the Board","body":"In addition to any other provisions of law, the Board shall have the authority to:\n(1) provide general information to applicants;\n(2) explain complaint and appeal procedures to applicants, licensees, registrants, and the public;\n(3) adopt rules pursuant to the Vermont Administrative Procedure Act:\n(A) as necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter;\n(B) relating to qualifications of applicants, examinations, and granting and renewal of licenses and registrations;\n(C) relating to the granting or renewal of a license to those who do not meet active practice requirements;\n(D) setting standards for the continuing education of persons licensed or registered under this chapter;\n(E) establishing requirements for licensing dental hygienists with five years of regulated practice experience;\n(F) setting educational standards and standards of practice for the administration of anesthetics in the dental office;\n(G) for the administration of local anesthetics by dental hygienists, including minimum education requirements and procedures for administration of local anesthetics;\n(H) setting guidelines for general supervision of dental hygienists, to be known as “public-health hygienists,” who may perform tasks in the settings set forth in section 624 of this chapter; and\n(I) prescribing minimum educational, training, experience, and supervision requirements and professional standards necessary for practice pursuant to this chapter as a dental assistant; and\n(4) undertake any other actions or procedures specified in, required by, or appropriate to carry out the provisions of this chapter.","path":["Title 26: Professions and Occupations","Chapter 012: Dentists, Dental Therapists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Assistants","Subchapter 002: BOARD OF DENTAL EXAMINERS"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/26/012/00582","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:07Z","sha256":"53729ee4bb59b7f651babfbf260e0c7c839b59bcfddd9f3ad19eef9033df5db3","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-581","next":"us-vt/26-v.s.a.-583"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
