{"data":{"id":"us-vt/27a-v.s.a.-4-111","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"27A V.S.A. § 4-111","heading":"Release of liens","body":"(a) In the case of a sale of a unit where delivery of a public offering statement is required pursuant to subsection 4-102(c) of this title, before conveying a unit, a seller shall:\n(1) record or furnish to the purchaser releases of all liens, except liens on real estate that a declarant has the right to withdraw from the common interest community, that the purchaser does not expressly agree to take subject to or assume and that encumber:\n(A) in a condominium, that unit and its common element interest; and\n(B) in a planned community, that unit and any limited common elements assigned to it; or\n(2) provide a surety bond or substitute collateral for or insurance against the lien.\n(b) Before conveying real estate to the association, the declarant shall have that real estate released from:\n(1) all liens the foreclosure of which would deprive unit owners of any right of access to or easement of support of their units; and\n(2) all other liens on that real estate unless the public offering statement describes certain real estate that may be conveyed subject to liens in specified amounts.","path":["Title 27A: Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (1994)","Article 004: Protection of Purchasers"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/fullchapter/27A/004","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:08Z","sha256":"879fa97a6bf34258f8ead611867f028a6c872d2fd57eed4e1ca851dd46ad3734","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/27a-v.s.a.-4-110","next":"us-vt/27a-v.s.a.-4-112"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
