{"data":{"id":"us-vt/3-v.s.a.-650","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"3 V.S.A. § 650","heading":"Definitions","body":"The following definitions shall apply throughout this chapter unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) “Deferred compensation agreement” means any agreement authorized by this chapter entered into between a public agency and an employee of that agency providing for a reduction in the employee’s compensation in return for the agency’s promise to make deferred payments in the future.\n(2) “Employee” means any employee of a public agency whether appointed, elected or under contract to whom compensation is paid.\n(3) “Other public agency” means a public agency described in subdivision (4)(B) or (C) of this section.\n(4) “Public agency” means:\n(A) the State, acting as a single unit employer on behalf of the General Assembly and State agencies, departments, boards, or commissions;\n(B) a county or municipality as defined in 24 V.S.A. § 4303(12); and\n(C) a school district as defined in 16 V.S.A. § 11(a)(10) or a supervisory union as defined in 16 V.S.A. § 11(a)(23).\n(5) “State Board” means the Vermont State Retirement Board.\n(6) “Teachers’ Board” means the Vermont State Teachers’ Retirement Board.","path":["Title 3: Executive","Chapter 022: Deferred Compensation Programs"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/03/022/00650","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T12:04:51Z","sha256":"9309e363eca2d56f73f8d1e668dba838e25dbaf9d93059fff6cd685ce2126224","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/3-v.s.a.-637","next":"us-vt/3-v.s.a.-651"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
