The Commissioner of Liquor and Lottery may adopt rules for licensure and indicia for boxes of break-open tickets, for record keeping relating to the distribution and sale of break-open tickets, and for the remittance of net proceeds from sales of break-open tickets to the intended eligible charitable recipients. The rules shall permit no proceeds to be retained by the operators of for-profit bars, except for:\n(1) the actual cost of the break-open tickets;\n(2) the prizes awarded; and\n(3) any sales tax due on the sale of break-open tickets under 32 V.S.A. chapter 233.","path":["Title 31: Recreation and Sports","Chapter 023: Games of Chance"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/31/023/01208","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:17:10Z","sha256":"f52c5efc3f9d2d7c5018abbe7e22fbe521d7aad42b92cc5e6703af99ff923af4","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/31-v.s.a.-1207","next":"us-vt/31-v.s.a.-1301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
