{"data":{"id":"us-vt/6-v.s.a.-4962","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"6 V.S.A. § 4962","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this subchapter:\n(1) “Certified Vermont Environmental Steward” means an owner or operator of a farm who has achieved the thresholds for the Vermont Environmental Stewardship Program to be certified as a farm that improves soil health and contributes to improving water quality.\n(2) “Regenerative farming” means a series of cropland management practices that:\n(A) contributes to generating or building soils and soil fertility and health;\n(B) increases water percolation, increases water retention, and increases the amount of clean water running off farms;\n(C) increases biodiversity and ecosystem health and resiliency; and\n(D) sequesters carbon in agricultural soils.","path":["Title 6: Agriculture","Chapter 215: Agricultural Water Quality","Subchapter 007A: REGENERATIVE AND INNOVATIVE AGRICULTURE"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/06/215/04962","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T13:15:51Z","sha256":"4b2e3d2830b581b59bfa312b9bcfad4022d5b83764223d6088eb340de5db4fea","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/6-v.s.a.-4961","next":"us-vt/6-v.s.a.-4963"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
