{"data":{"id":"us-vt/8-v.s.a.-2763","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"8 V.S.A. § 2763","heading":"Exceptions","body":"The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the following:\n(1) any attorney admitted to the practice of law in this State, when engaged in such practice;\n(2) any financial institution as defined in subdivision 11101(32) of this title or a lender licensed under chapter 73 of this title, which performs debt adjustment in the regular course of its principal business;\n(3) any person acting pursuant to any law of this State or of the United States or acting under the order of a court;\n(4) any bona fide nonprofit religious, fraternal, or cooperative organization offering debt adjustment services exclusively for members;\n(5) any employee of a licensee when acting in the regular course of his or her employment; and\n(6) a certified public accountant licensed in this State, when services are rendered in the course of his or her practice as a certified public accountant.","path":["Title 8: Banking and Insurance","Chapter 083: Debt Adjusters"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/08/083/02763","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T13:41:21Z","sha256":"392a1fb3dc33ad0847bdf7227e17ae16189dcd6f0229475289dd28dcf46c7a27","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/8-v.s.a.-2762","next":"us-vt/8-v.s.a.-2764"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
