{"data":{"id":"us-vt/9-v.s.a.-2482a","jurisdiction":"us-vt","citation":"9 V.S.A. § 2482a","heading":"Definitions","body":"In this chapter:\n(1) “Account change” means a change to a member’s password, username, e-mail address, or other contact information an Internet dating service uses to enable communications between members.\n(2) “Banned member” means the member whose account or profile is the subject of a fraud ban.\n(3) “Fraud ban” means barring a member’s account or profile from an Internet dating service because, in the judgment of the service, the member poses a significant risk of attempting to obtain money from other members through fraudulent means.\n(4) “Internet dating service” means a person, or a division of a person, that is primarily in the business of providing dating services principally on or through the Internet.\n(5) “Member” means a person who submits to an Internet dating service information required to access the service and who obtains access to the service.\n(6) “Vermont member” means a member who provides a Vermont residential or billing address or zip code when registering with the Internet dating service.","path":["Title 9: Commerce and Trade","Chapter 063: Consumer Protection","Subchapter 008: INTERNET DATING SERVICES"],"source_url":"https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/09/063/02482a","current_through":"2025 session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T14:22:51Z","sha256":"87060e4bdfe04c7a4d8cc190237b1293efcb6bf02a7ea778f2a94d726aa76b09","source_id":"us-vt","stale":false,"prev":"us-vt/9-v.s.a.-2481x","next":"us-vt/9-v.s.a.-2482b"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
