{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-1.08.001","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 1.08.001","heading":"Statute law committee created—Membership.","body":"There is created a permanent statute law committee consisting of eleven members as follows:\n(1) The secretary of the senate, ex officio;\n(2) Two members of the senate, one from each of the two largest caucuses in the senate, appointed by the president of the senate;\n(3) The chief clerk of the house of representatives, ex officio;\n(4) Two members of the house of representatives, one from each of the two largest caucuses in the house of representatives, appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives;\n(5) The staff director of the nonpartisan professional committee staff of the senate, ex officio;\n(6) The staff director of the nonpartisan professional committee staff of the house of representatives, ex officio;\n(7) A lawyer admitted to practice in this state, appointed by the board of governors of the Washington State Bar Association;\n(8) A judge of the supreme court or a lawyer who has been admitted to practice in this state, appointed by the chief justice of the supreme court; and\n(9) A lawyer staff member of the governor's office or a state agency, appointed by the governor.\nAll such initial appointments shall be made within thirty days of May 11, 2005.","path":["Title 1","Chapter 1.08"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=1.08.001","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T00:23:46Z","sha256":"19edccd4223ea838380381de9113a6d045fda95249ca80010d504b74422f4cd9","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-1.04.040","next":"us-wa/rcw-1.08.003"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
