Except as otherwise provided in RCW 11.104B.180(2)(c), the period may be:\n(a) A calendar year;\n(b) A 12-month period other than a calendar year;\n(c) A calendar quarter;\n(d) A three-month period other than a calendar quarter; or\n(e) Another period.\n(2) Except as otherwise provided in RCW 11.104B.180(2), a unitrust policy may provide standards for:\n(a) Using fewer preceding periods under RCW 11.104B.150 (1)(b)(ii) or (2)(c) or (d) if:\n(i) The trust was not in existence in a preceding period; or\n(ii) Market indices or other published data are not available for a preceding period;\n(b) Using fewer preceding periods under RCW 11.104B.160(2) (e)(i) or (ii), (f)(ii), or (g)(ii) if:\n(i) The trust was not in existence in a preceding period; or\n(ii) Fair market values are not available for a preceding period; and\n(c) Prorating the unitrust amount on a daily basis for a part of a period in which the trust or the administration of the trust as a unitrust or the interest of any beneficiary commences or terminates.","path":["Title 11","Chapter 11.104B"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=11.104B.170","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:00:25Z","sha256":"d24804b4bb08ccbc1071afd196abcad68d30109342144ec001f84f0d0c9ede65","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-11.104b.160","next":"us-wa/rcw-11.104b.180"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
