{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-11.104b.230","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 11.104B.230","heading":"Receipts not normally apportioned—Principal receipts.","body":"A fiduciary shall allocate to principal:\n(1) To the extent not allocated to income under this chapter, an asset received from:\n(a) An individual during the individual's lifetime;\n(b) An estate;\n(c) A trust on termination of an income interest; or\n(d) A payor under a contract naming the fiduciary as beneficiary;\n(2) Except as otherwise provided in this article, money or other property received from the sale, exchange, liquidation, or change in form of a principal asset;\n(3) An amount recovered from a third party to reimburse the fiduciary because of a disbursement described in RCW 11.104B.410(1) or for another reason to the extent not based on loss of income;\n(4) Proceeds of property taken by eminent domain, except that proceeds awarded for loss of income in an accounting period are income if a current income beneficiary had a mandatory income interest during the period;\n(5) Net income received in an accounting period during which there is no beneficiary to which a fiduciary may or must distribute income; and\n(6) Other receipts as provided in RCW 11.104B.270 through 11.104B.350.","path":["Title 11","Chapter 11.104B"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=11.104B.230","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:00:25Z","sha256":"cc8ed171488580f65df1eb0ec0f24c5f24ae809e5e5a36ae85fd49ade96eef8c","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-11.104b.220","next":"us-wa/rcw-11.104b.240"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
