{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-11.135.060","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 11.135.060","heading":"Electronic documents and signatures recognized.","body":"(1) A nontestamentary estate planning document or a signature on a nontestamentary estate planning document may not be denied legal effect or enforceability solely because it is in electronic form.\n(2) If other law of this state requires a nontestamentary estate planning document to be in writing, an electronic record of the document satisfies the requirement.\n(3) If other law of this state requires a signature on a nontestamentary estate planning document, an electronic signature satisfies the requirement.\n(4) A person that refuses in violation of this section to accept a nontestamentary estate planning document or a signature on a nontestamentary estate planning document is subject to:\n(a) A court order mandating acceptance of the document or signature; and\n(b) Liability for reasonable attorneys' fees and costs incurred in any action or proceeding that confirms the validity of the document or signature or mandates acceptance of the document or signature.","path":["Title 11","Chapter 11.135"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=11.135.060","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:01:20Z","sha256":"afd8c04f349fad9e45f2e0be23cf38035c8d1ed991288541667fbd46ba45e483","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-11.135.050","next":"us-wa/rcw-11.135.070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
