{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-18.27.340","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 18.27.340","heading":"Infraction—Monetary penalty.","body":"(1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (3) of this section, a contractor found to have committed an infraction under RCW 18.27.200 shall be assessed a monetary penalty of not less than $200 and not more than $10,000.\n(2) The director may waive collection in favor of payment of restitution to a consumer complainant.\n(3) A contractor found to have committed an infraction under RCW 18.27.200 for failure to register shall be assessed a fine of not less than $1,200, nor more than $10,000. The director may reduce the penalty for failure to register, but in no case below $600, if the person becomes registered within 10 days of receiving a notice of infraction and the notice of infraction is for a first offense.\n(4) Monetary penalties collected under this section shall be deposited in the homeowner recovery account under RCW 18.27.420.","path":["Title 18","Chapter 18.27"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=18.27.340","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:15:41Z","sha256":"30d1690cf02d2b987934ee6387327592fe7a06f2a2060ce51a2500fd02b47c60","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-18.27.320","next":"us-wa/rcw-18.27.350"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
