{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-18.71c.020","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 18.71C.020","heading":"State participation in compact.","body":"(1) To participate in this compact, a participating state shall:\n(a) License physician assistants;\n(b) Participate in the compact commission's data system;\n(c) Have a mechanism in place for receiving and investigating complaints against licensees and license applicants;\n(d) Notify the commission, in compliance with the terms of this compact and commission rules, of any adverse action against a licensee or license applicant and the existence of significant investigative information regarding a licensee or license applicant;\n(e) Fully implement a criminal background check requirement, within a time frame established by commission rule, by its licensing board receiving the results of a criminal background check and reporting to the commission whether the license applicant has been granted a license;\n(f) Comply with the rules of the compact commission;\n(g) Utilize passage of a recognized national exam such as the national commission on certification of physician assistants' physician assistant national certifying examination as a requirement for physician assistant licensure; and\n(h) Grant the compact privilege to a holder of a qualifying license in a participating state.\n(2) Nothing in this compact prohibits a participating state from charging a fee for granting the compact privilege.","path":["Title 18","Chapter 18.71C"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=18.71C.020","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:18:30Z","sha256":"aafcb42496a2d037a8ba7f5af77036667c62a303000d3e572d9c7fd297a101e1","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-18.71c.010","next":"us-wa/rcw-18.71c.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
