{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-28a.420.040","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 28A.420.040","heading":"Teacher qualifications and requirements for licensure under the compact.","body":"(1) Except as provided for active military members or eligible military spouses in RCW 28A.420.020(4), a teacher may only be eligible to receive a license under this compact where that teacher holds an unencumbered license in a member state.\n(2) A teacher eligible to receive a license under this compact shall, unless otherwise provided for herein:\n(a) Upon their application to receive a license under this compact, undergo a criminal background check in the receiving state in accordance with the laws and regulations of the receiving state;\n(b) Comply with any applicable conditions of employment in the receiving state; and\n(c) Provide the receiving state with information in addition to the information required for licensure for the purposes of determining compensation, if applicable.","path":["Title 28A","Chapter 28A.420"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=28A.420.040","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:47:36Z","sha256":"c16411bf1896b1081628d55de678cc14c0f0cea7b6e9376e36fa2bb3aa78683a","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-28a.420.030","next":"us-wa/rcw-28a.420.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
