{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-28b.77.240","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 28B.77.240","heading":"Western Governors University - Washington—Recognition and endorsement—Rules.","body":"(1) The council may:\n(a) Recognize and endorse online, competency-based education as an important component of Washington's higher education system;\n(b) Work to eliminate unnecessary barriers to the delivery of online competency-based education by Western Governors University - Washington; and\n(c) Work with Western Governors University - Washington, as appropriate, to integrate its academic programs and services into Washington higher education policy and strategy.\n(2) The council shall work with Western Governors University - Washington to create data-sharing processes to assess the institution's performance and determine the extent to which it helps the state achieve the goals of the current ten-year plan for higher education.\n(3) The council shall adopt rules and policies to implement this section and that require council consultation and approval before:\n(a) Modifications of contractual terms or relationships between the state and the institution of higher education; or\n(b) Changes or modifications in the nonprofit status of the institution of higher education.","path":["Title 28B","Chapter 28B.77"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=28B.77.240","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:53:06Z","sha256":"3d2b3e91c80c64ff40f7198745ca6de46bf227b0f5a88d01fb4477892027dd10","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-28b.77.230","next":"us-wa/rcw-28b.77.250"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
