{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-31.12.065","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 31.12.065","heading":"Bylaws—Submission to director.","body":"(1) Persons applying for the organization of a credit union shall adopt bylaws that prescribe the manner in which the business of the credit union shall be conducted. The bylaws shall include:\n(a) The name of the credit union;\n(b) The field of membership of the credit union;\n(c) Reasonable qualifications for admission as a member of the credit union, and the procedures for expelling a member;\n(d) The number of directors and supervisory committee members, and the length of terms they serve and the permissible term length of any interim director or supervisory committee member;\n(e) Any qualification for eligibility to serve on the credit union's board or supervisory committee;\n(f) The number of credit union employees that may serve on the board, if any;\n(g) The frequency of regular meetings of the board and the supervisory committee, and the manner in which members of the board or supervisory committee will be notified of meetings;\n(h) The timing of the annual membership meeting;\n(i) The manner in which members may call a special membership meeting;\n(j) The manner in which members will be notified of membership meetings;\n(k) The number of members constituting a quorum at a membership meeting;\n(l) Provisions, if any, for the indemnification of directors, supervisory committee members, officers, employees, and others by the credit union, if not included in the articles of incorporation; and\n(m) Any other provision which is not inconsistent with this chapter.\n(2) Applicants shall submit the bylaws in duplicate to the director.","path":["Title 31","Chapter 31.12"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=31.12.065","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:25:35Z","sha256":"299b0a762dbe142545fb5122eb888d2004b1950a3c54526df0eefb116f5f99dd","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-31.12.055","next":"us-wa/rcw-31.12.075"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
