{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-31.12.853","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 31.12.853","heading":"Prohibited acts—Civil penalties—Rules.","body":"(1) The department is authorized to assess civil fines to the credit union for violation of any of the following:\n(a) Any material provision of this chapter or related rules;\n(b) Any final or temporary order, including a cease and desist, suspension, removal, or prohibition order;\n(c) Any supervisory agreement;\n(d) Any condition imposed in writing in connection with the grant of any application or other request; or\n(e) Any other written agreement entered into with the director.\n(2) At the option of the director, a violation of this section subjects the violator to a fine of up to ten thousand dollars per violation. A continuing violation shall be considered a single violation for this purpose. The fine is payable upon issuance of any order or directive of the director, and may be recovered by the attorney general in a civil action in the name of the department.\n(3) The department is authorized to adopt rules for the implementation of this section.","path":["Title 31","Chapter 31.12"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=31.12.853","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T01:25:35Z","sha256":"3ffe6cf7415dd6dc8b58e5199f6a57c917bb5dcea3b83d2b23107eae2758f966","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-31.12.850","next":"us-wa/rcw-31.12.860"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
