{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-4.100.015","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 4.100.015","heading":"Definitions.","body":"The definitions in this section apply throughout this chapter unless the context clearly requires otherwise.\n(1) \"Actually innocent\" describes a person for whom a preponderance of all the evidence no longer supports a finding that the person engaged in conduct that is the basis for a felony charged in the charging document.\n(2) \"Significant new exculpatory information\" means any information, without regard to its admissibility in court, that:\n(a) Supports or is consistent with a person's claim they were wrongly convicted; and\n(b) Was not considered by the finder of fact at trial or in a plea hearing before conviction.\n(3) \"Wrongly convicted\" means a person who was charged, convicted, and imprisoned for one or more felonies of which he or she is actually innocent.","path":["Title 4","Chapter 4.100"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=4.100.015","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T00:31:31Z","sha256":"1099a32138858e3574c13311fbee02af9ba11b136de7723b44e1835bcf20668b","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-4.100.010","next":"us-wa/rcw-4.100.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
