{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-41.50.180","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 41.50.180","heading":"Inactive accounts—Identification, closing, and refund.","body":"(1) By January 1, 2022, the department will establish by rule an effective means of:\n(a) Identifying inactive accounts of nonvested members of the retirement systems listed in RCW 41.50.030 whose account balance is less than one thousand dollars; and\n(b) Providing for the orderly closing and refunding of member account balances in those accounts in accordance with the federal internal revenue code.\n(2) The refund of a member's account balance will terminate all rights to future benefits, unless otherwise restored under the rules for each of the respective retirement systems.","path":["Title 41","Chapter 41.50"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=41.50.180","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:44:03Z","sha256":"d55a3cb2510154d867308965545f36eb91030a7dd6948cfd9bded838df4f048f","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-41.50.175","next":"us-wa/rcw-41.50.200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
