{"data":{"id":"us-wa/rcw-41.58.080","jurisdiction":"us-wa","citation":"RCW 41.58.080","heading":"Organizing petitions—Electronic signatures.","body":"(1) For any new organizing petition to form a new bargaining unit of currently unrepresented workers or to add unrepresented workers to an existing bargaining unit, regardless of whether the election is by mail ballot or cross-check, the public employment relations commission must accept electronic signatures, subject to the requirements set forth in this section and by rules adopted by the commission.\n(2) At a minimum, electronic signature submissions must include:\n(a) The name of the signer;\n(b) The phone number, email address, or social media account of the signer;\n(c) The exact authorization language to which the signer assents;\n(d) The date of submission of the electronic signature; and\n(e) The name of the signer's employer.\n(3) The petitioning party must provide a declaration that:\n(a) Identifies the technology used to obtain and verify the signature;\n(b) Provides the methods used to ensure the authenticity of the signature; and\n(c) Confirms the information transmitted to the signer was the same information to which the signer assented.\n(4) The public employment relations commission must adopt rules to implement this section.","path":["Title 41","Chapter 41.58"],"source_url":"https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=41.58.080","current_through":"July 15, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:44:19Z","sha256":"e516056b45bb87349cd501a0aadc637504977d2d71d0faf64faa315363ef21ca","source_id":"us-wa","stale":false,"prev":"us-wa/rcw-41.58.070","next":"us-wa/rcw-41.58.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
